OVERVIEW OF THE WEEKLY FIXTURES |
>>Top |
During the weekly game, consist of the following procedure:-
1.
The Organizer who is usually the Wooden Spoon Award Recipient of the
game last week, will post a new game for this coming weekend. If the
Wooden Spoon Award Recipient is unable to host the game, a volunteer
will be chosen.
2.
Players were encouraged to log on to the site and join early to avoid
disappointment.
3.
Meals (lunch) is not covered by the collection. Hence, you make your own
arrangements for lunch. The common practice is for a group to meet at a
mutually convenient location for lunch.
4.
The
organizer will collect the green fees and other related monies for the
week’s game.
a.
Players will contribute, golfing green fees, buggy charges and other
related charges which goes directly to the golf club.
b.
Players also contribute RM15.00 to the pool to cover expenses for prize
money inclusive of the sinking fund of RM5.00 per person per game.
5.
All players are encouraged to join the lunch to interact with other
members of the group. In the event one is unable to join the group for
lunch, they have to call ahead for friendly parties to “brown bag” food
for them. This is not encouraged although tolerated.
6.
Flight arrangements will be made by the organizer.
7.
All players must report 15 minutes at the golf counter before Tee Time.
Late comers are penalized RM20.00. This penalty will go directly into
the sinking fund. The official time will be based on the time on the
clock at the registration counter. If there is no clock at the
registration counter (which I have yet to find one such club), then the
wrist watch of the registration personnel at the counter applies.
8.
The game will commence after all buggies or tuff mates are assigned to
the respective players. (Unwritten rule here, if there are new players,
the organizer will try as much as possible to pair the new players with
more seasoned players so that the seasoned players may give guidance to
the new players). In most cases, people are eager to get on to the
course once they are ready, however, we remind players to take
instructions from the organizer. They will assign your buggies and will
also indicate for you to go off to the tee box. Please help the
organizers maintain some fashion of order at the golf course.
9.
All players are to keep their own score for tabulation at the end of the
game.
10.
All participants of the game will assemble at a designated restaurant
for dinner. (not compulsory). The dinner
expenses will be shared equally among all dinner participants. The
additional contribution to the dinner may end up with excess monies
which is also placed into the sinking fund.
11.
Scores are tabulated and podium finishers, Wooden Spoon and Spoon Rest,
will be name and prizes given out.
12.
Wooden Spoon will become the organizer of the next game.
NOTE: If you are interested in starting a new group, please contact
Edward Chan at

organization. You may decide to start your own group and organized your

-
For a game to
be sanctioned, there are a few criteria to satisfy. Together
with these criteria, KGC also impose some penalties for the

designed to kill but must be looked upon as character building
with a slight injection of humor in them.
There will be only ONE (1) weekend sanctioned game per week. For
organizers please indicate the game is sanctioned when posting the
event.

Must post game/event on the site
The game must be posted on the site to

The second set of numbers applies.
Exceptions
1.
Podium Finishers
Handicaps of podium finishers are reduce immediately for the next
game if they shoot scores below their handicap. For every 2 strokes
under their current handicap, their month handicap will be reduced
by one stroke. The reduced handicap will apply for the rest of the
month.
If the same player scores another podium finish in the same month
and shoots under his/her handicap, his/her monthly handicap will be
further reduced.
If the game is the last game of the month, then the reduced handicap
will be carried for the whole of the entire next month. However, if
the calculated handicap is lower than the reduced handicap, then the
lower handicap will apply.
2.
Only one (1) game for the month
If the member plays only one game for that month, his/her handicap
will still be calculated as normal. However, only reduction in
strokes will apply. If the average is higher than his present
handicap, then the present handicap will apply.
3.
Continuous No Show without application
KGC will reduce the member’s handicap by one stroke for every month
of non participation in at least one sanctioned game by a maximum of
2 strokes per year. If a consecutive no show for 6 calendar
months, the golfer will lose their
kakgolf handicap and be moved to the new golfers section playing off
S36. New golfers who do not show up for more than 6 months will
have their names removed from the list and will lose their games
played status.
(If you are away on an extended period of time and will not be in
the country to participate in the games, you will not be subjected
to this exception of the handicapping)
Reduction
Through normal calculation of the handicap, reduction in
handicap is based on actual averages of the player’s handicap over
the month. If the average is calculated to be infractions,
regardless of the fractions, handicap will always be ROUNDED UP to
the next integer.
Increasing
Through normal calculation of the handicap, REGARDLESS of
average, the maximum increase to one’s handicap
is ONE (1) stroke per month.

System 36 |
>>Top |
System 36
Day Handicap calculation
36 – H = day handicap.
H is a total calculated based on your scores.
1. For every hole you score a par or better, you add 2 to X
2. For every hole you score a bogey, you add 1 to X
3. Any scores worst than a bogey is disregard at this point in time.
For example, if over the course of your game, you scored the following
1 birdie, 3 pars, 5 bogeys, 6 double bogeys and 1 triple bogey, your day
handicap will be
H = 0
A. 1 birdie = 1 X 2 = 2
B. 3 pars = 3 X 2 = 6
C. 5 bogeys = 5 X 1 = 5
Therefore H = A + B + C = 13
The formula is 36 – H = Day handicap, so your handicap for the day is 23.
